Adventure Racing

Adventure Family Fun Center is the ultimate place for your Summer Camp Group/Scout Group trip, Camp Reunion or social event with several private party rooms. Our 1.000 ft. outdoor go-cart track is the largest and most exciting in the area. We have an Leman’s Indoor Go Cart track, 70 foot Rock-climbing wall, Paintball target practice range, Multilevel Laser Tag with tons of hiding spots, Glow in the dark structures and Great Music, Bumper Cars, State of the art Karaoke sound Stage w/ Ultra Modern Light show and dance floor, plus a Gigantic Arcade. Many different packages are available and we can accommodate up to 300 people with unbeatable group rates. In our 40,000 Square Foot facility, we can guarantee to please anyone and everyone offering a variety of entertainment that includes, Indoor Paintball, go Carts, Bumper Cars, Laser Tag and so much more. Able to accommodate up to 300 people with an unbeatable group rate, we can make your next event be a memorable and lasting experiences for everyone. We are the ideal location for day trips, Fundraising events, Scout events or any social gathering small and large. Go-Carts

Adventure Racing features a 1000’ track with hair pin turns, dips and drops just like a real racetrack. Adventure Racing is Open both day and night for your convenience. We feature 1 and 2 person Go-Karts so even small children can experience the awesome thrill of our high energy track. Our Go-Karts have the speed and agility of the high performance racing machines kids love. Adventure Racing Go-Karts are just as much fun for adults as it is for kids. Adventure Racing Go-Karts are a great way for your Students to connect with each other in a fast paced, exhilarating way. They are fast, but safe and a great way to get your adrenaline pumping with this unforgettable ride. It’s an action packed adventure for the whole Class Trip or School Event!

Go Karts
Adventure Racing indoor track is the only one of its kind in the area. Our Grand Prix style track is loaded with exciting features like a bridge, underpass and a course that will challenge even the most seasoned driver. Also our indoor track features four 20’ TV screens which are available for any private function. Adventure Racing indoor Go-Kart track is also equipped with a high tech time trial system, that allows you to race against the clock or other racers. Laser Tag

Adventure Racings Multi Level Laser tag has a full 3 levels of fun with Glow in the dark, Black light obstacles to hide behind, numerous rooms in which to ambush the opposing team, and multi story Star Wars figures. The interactive Music and lights system brings the multi-level lazer tag arena to life. Laser Tag course can host two teams of up to twelve players,that’s 24 players accumulating with real-time game stats that are calculated throughout your match. The Game starts in our Debriefing room with a short movie that explains the lazertag rules and presents the players with some tips and tricks. The final Stats are posted immediately following the game in the arcade which tabulates not only the winner but hit percentage and other crucial information about you and your team. Escape reality by joining in one of adventure racings Star Wars ultra modern laser tag games.

Adventure Racing has a large paintball shooting range jam-packed with sound activated and pressure sensitive targets. Avoid the sting of getting hit by fast moving paintballs, but enjoy the best part of the sport, shooting our high velocity paint guns. Practice your aim, have shootouts or just blast away at the numerous targets in our shooting gallery. Hey parents, Adventure Racing is an inexpensive way to determine whether your children will enjoy the sport of paintball before investing in costly equipment. The best part is “NO STING” and 100% Safe for all ages. Why spend money on a passing phase? If Paintball, Laser tag is something that doesn’t spark the interest of your School Group then Adventure Racing also offers the Pirate Cove Mini Golf. School groups can enjoy game of Mini Golf. The adventures and legends of infamous pirates come to life in our award-winning theme park settings. Putt your way through caves, over footbridges, and under cascading waterfalls, all amidst a fun-filled atmosphere of natural wonders, extraordinary landscaping, and enchanting pirate lore.

Rock Climbing

The Adventure Racing Rock Climbing Wall Rivals professional walls yet is safe enough for children to climb. Harnessed in with super strong safety equipment that will lower even a 300lb adult to ground slowly and gracefully it truly is exciting. There are 4 skill levels with timers and even a bell at the top of all the runs to ring if you make it. Compete against your friends, family or even the clock in this interactive experience.

Bumper Cars

Adventure Racing bumper cars are fun for all ages. The rink is located adjacent to the arcade and can be viewed from the arcade level, so even younger children can participate while being supervised. The Bumper cars are a great rainy day activity, because kids never get sick of them. Adults are welcome on this ride too, so come interact with your Students on this classic ride. See why Bumper cars have been a fair and carnivals favorite for decades, and we have them here at Adventure Racing.

Shelburne Museum is a must visit location for School Groups of all Grades and ages. Art Safari 

Art Safari programs are Museum adventures specifically designed for 3 to 5-year old visitors with an adult companion. Each month we explore a part of the Museum collection through imaginative play and then roll up our sleeves for a hands-on art activity in Owl Cottage. May through August, stay on for Story Time with Webby at 10:30 a.m.

All programs have a capacity of ten children. We kindly ask that no children younger than three attend so that you and your preschooler can fully engage in the activities. Registration is by mail on a first-come, first-served basis.

Arts on the Go

From  mid-June to mid-August our bright blue Art on the Go are stationed in exhibitions and filled with art supplies, games, activities, and books. Look for the carts again during the 2013 season for new art activities and learning opportunities.

 Dive in with Webby 

Keep your eye out around the grounds for Webby–the icon for family-friendly activities in and around the Museum’s galleries and grounds. “Dive in with Webby” cards in many of our exhibition buildings guide visitors of all ages in interactive explorations of Museum collections.

 Daily Demonstrations

Demonstrations will resume May 11, 2014

Visitors can gain insight into America’s craft and cultural heritage at three demonstration sites: the Blacksmith Shop, Print Shop, and Weaving Shop.

Blacksmith Shop

Visit the Blacksmith Shop to see demonstrations of how early 20th-century blacksmiths practiced their trade. The Blacksmith Shop also houses a collection of 19th and 20th-century blacksmithing and wheelwrighting tools.

Print Shop

The Print Shop features letterpress printing demonstrations that highlight changes in printing technology through the 19th and mid-20th centuries. Museum printers work at a range of presses, from the manual acorn press to the automated Heidelberg press.

Weaving Shop

Visitors to the Weaving Shop can learn about the processing of wool and linen into finished cloth. Museum weavers work on spinning wheels, two barn-frame looms, and a rare 1890s Jacquard Loom.

Quests…they’re not just for knights anymore!

Quests help intrepid explorers uncover treasures of Native culture! Tour the museum at your own pace with the help of our family oriented Quests.

Completing the Circle Quest guides visitors through the galleries using engaging verses that encourage visitors young and old to observe the artifacts in special ways. Come questing at Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum and find a treasure at the end.

The Medicine Woods

The Medicine Woods Quest

Leads visitors through a nature trail where plants grow that were and are used by Native Americans for food, medicine, dye, and building material. The Quest focuses on some of those uses and leads you to a treasure at the end.

 

General Public Tours

Visitors make take a self-guided tour of the museum at any time throughout the day. The last admission to the galleries is at 4:00. A self-guided tour includes:

  • An introductory video
  • A self-guided tour brochure
  • User-friendly DVD kiosks with information about the various regions of the United States
  • The chance to set your own pace or to concentrate in particular areas
  • The Dream Catcher Gift Shop
  • A self-guided tour of the Medicine Woods Trail

Guided tours daily at 2:00 

Visitors may opt to tour the museum with a trained guide each day at 2:00. After you have seen the introductory video your guide will take you through the museum’s seven galleries. He or she will provide you with information about the artifacts in each gallery, including

  • How the artifacts were used.
  • When and where they were made.
  • The materials and techniques that were used in the creation of the artifact.
  • The person or people who created the artifacts: Who were these people? How did their cultural and spiritual beliefs influence the choices they made in creating these artifacts?
  • Feel free to ask questions throughout the tour. Your guide will gladly answer them.
