CPF (City Parks Foundation) is the only nonprofit organization to create programs in parks throughout all five boroughs of New York City. We enrich and connect New Yorkers through free and accessible arts, sports, education and community-building initiatives.

We connect teachers, students and families through hands-on classroom, after school and teacher-training programs in parks, schools and Recreation Centers across New York City. Annually, our programs reach 7,500 students and community members and 600 teachers.

SUMMERSTAGE KIDS

City Parks Foundation’s Arts programs offer over 1,200 performances a year—more than any other arts organization in New York City—in music, dance and theater (called “SummerStage”) and kids performances through SummerStage Kids, the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre and the CityParksPuppetMobile.

SWEDISH COTTAGE MARIONETTE THEATRE

Bringing enjoyment to legions of people through its contemporary and innovative marionette productions based on children’s classics.

PUPPETMOBILE

One of the oldest marionette companies in the country presents free performances and puppet-making workshops in neighborhood parks, recreation centers and schools.

CPF provides FREE sports instruction to over 13,000 kids and 1,000 seniors annually, at over 60 parks citywide. Whether its tennis, golf, track & field or fitness – the name of the game here is FUN for all ability levels!

TENNIS

These lessons make the sport freely available to those who want to learn the game in a fun, relaxed environment.

GOLF

Fun and easy for kids ages 6 to 17, these free lessons make the sport accessible to kids of all skill levels.

JUNIOR GOLF CENTER – BROOKLYN

This state-of-the-art par 3 facility offers free golf instruction to New York City children between the ages of 7-17.

TRACK & FIELD

Learn the basics of the sport, from hurdles and relay races to long jump, shot put and javelin throw.

KIDS FITNESS

These fun-filled fitness programs help keep young kids active, and help to develop positive, life-long attitudes toward healthy exercise and nutrition.

SENIORS FITNESS

Join New Yorkers ages 60 and over, for free tennis lessons, yoga instruction, and fitness walking in parks across the country.

The Kennedy Center Education Department commissions, produces, presents, and tours performances for students, teachers, adults, and families; offers professional development opportunities in the arts for teachers and artists; creates and implements model programs for use by other performing arts centers and schools; develops and encourages community and national outreach programs; fosters careers of young artists and arts managers; and provides arts education resources via satellite, the Internet, in print, and in person. Performances for school groups provide opportunities to learn, to explore, and to embrace the arts.

Free Guided Tours given by Friends of the Kennedy Center Tour Guides

A tour of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, situated on the banks of the Potomac River, is a highlight of any visit to Washington, D.C. As the nation’s performing arts center and a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, the Kennedy Center welcomes three million visitors annually. The tour highlights the historic events that led up to the establishment of a national cultural center, as well as an interactive exhibit on the life and presidency of John F. Kennedy. Tours of the Kennedy Center are offered daily, free of charge, and given by the Friends of the Kennedy Center volunteers.

  • Theater

    Tony Award–winning triumphs. American musical classics. Powerful, daring dramas. Thrilling new productions. They’re all here, from Broadway’s biggest blockbusters to spectacular revivals produced exclusively by the Kennedy Center.

  • National Symphony Orchestra

    Each season, the nation’s orchestra welcomes the world’s greatest guest artists to the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, and offers many other exciting events and educational programs throughout D.C., the nation, and the world.

  • Millennium Stage

    Every day of the year at 6 p.m., the Kennedy Center hosts a free performance as part of its “Performing Arts for Everyone” initiative. No tickets are required, though seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Featuring local, national, and international talents, the Millennium Stage has been hailed as “a cultural institution within a cultural institution” by the Washington Post.

  • Ballet

    As the curtain of the Opera House rises, stories unfold, emotions are laid bare, and elegance is revealed through the grace and beauty of ballet.     The Kennedy Center is home to heartwarming and fun-filled performances for every age group and their families, from wide-eyed toddlers to young adults. Most events take place in the Family Theater, from Kennedy Center original world-premiere productions based on favorite children’s books, to music, dance, theater, storytelling, puppetry, and much more.

Since 1984, TADA! has been providing young people of all different backgrounds, including a large number of disadvantaged children and families, the opportunity to explore and perform musical theater together in an educational, supportive, and professional environment. Every year, TADA! produces three original musical theater productions with a discounted ticket program; free pre-professional training and youth development opportunities through the Resident Youth Ensemble composed of over 65 NYC kids ages 8-18; renowned Arts Education in-school residencies and after-school programs that are subsidized by our funders; and theater classes for kids of all ages taught by professional teaching artists and for which need-based scholarships are readily available.

Celebrate like a star! Your child will have a fun and memorable birthday when you book a TADA! party. We make it easy. Choose the package that fits best for you, and we’ll take care of the rest!

COMMAND PERFORMANCE

Reserve the entire theater (limit 100 people) during the normal run of any of our musical productions. Details about interactive add-on ‘Get in the Show’ below.

COMMAND PERFORMANCE INCLUDES:

  • The TADA! Birthday song sung from stage by full cast
  • Use of theater lobby for 30 minutes following the performance
  • Party favors for children attending party–including a discount to an upcoming show or class
  • Special goody bag for birthday child
  • 10-minute Question & Answer session with cast (optional; only availble if last performance of the day is selected)
  • TADA! Invitations for you to personalize and send
  • Storage space for cake and beverages

The Birthday Party becomes its own show!

BRING TADA! TO YOU INCLUDES TWO TEACHING ARTISTS WHO:

  • Run a 45-60 minute series of theater games
  • Teach the song and dance moves for the TADA! Birthday song
  • Come equipped with a keyboard
  • Party favors for children attending party–including a discount to an upcoming show or class
  • Special goody bag for birthday child

This package requires electrical outlet and extension cord for keyboard and enough space for party-goers to move around.  Party must be held within walking distance of NYC subway system or additional transportation charges will apply.

Cost: $500

Get in the Show!

Make your party interactive when TADAs professional Teaching Artists teach the children a song and dance for the TADA! Birthday song or a song from the show (minimum to book: 25 people). The 30-60 minute session takes place in our third floor rehearsal room. If this option is elected, your group is also welcome to use the space for a small reception.

Additional Cost: $500

TADA! also offers the option to rent our third floor rehearsal room space for a reception after the show, subject to availability, without the presence of the Teaching Artists to lead activities.

Additional Cost: $350

Literally AliveTM is a NYC -based children’s theatre company that produces original musicals based on classic children’s literature, which comes to life onstage. In addition to a full professional production, families can participate in a pre-show arts workshop.

We are committed to engaging children in the arts, which develops their imagination and instills the mental flexibility necessary to utilize creative, problem solving in their adult life. High-quality theatrical productions which offer engaging costumes and sets, as well as performances by talented professional actors, reach across the footlights and welcome the child in.

We are in residence at the Players Theatre located at 115 MacDougal Street in the heart of Greenwich Village.
