There is always something new happening at the Museum of Discovery and Science. Spend a day of discovery exploring hundreds of interactive exhibits including the new EcoDiscovery Center. The mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs, and films. Founded in 1976 as The Discovery Center, the nonprofit facility serves approximately 400,000 visitors each year.

You can choose from many exciting themes ranging from live animal demonstrations to science magic! Birthday parties at the Museum are filled with adventure and fun that your special boy or girl will always remember. Our Museum birthday parties are offered for children ages 5-12.

Space Crusaders

Take a galactic journey and explore the wonders of space in an out of this world adventure. Make and launch your own rocket. Learn how chemical changes are used in space flight and discover why Mars is red.

Crazy Chemistry

Stir up some fun on your birthday, mixing magic from everyday household ingredients. Learn how to make water disappear and appear again and make an ooey-gooey bag of slime.

Animal Mania

Snakes and alligators and lizards, oh my! Learn about the Museum’s reptiles and even meet them face-to-face! It’s perfect for your “party animal!”

Discovery Diva!

Is there more to makeup than sweet smells and sparkles? Of course, it’s SCIENCE! You and your BFF’s will create your very own sparkly potions and scented lotions to take home.

Wii Dance Party

Bring your best dance moves to your own Wii Dance Party. Challenge your friends to a dance off or team up and dance with eachother on our 10-foot-wideI x 8-foot-high projection screen. It’ll be a hip-hopping twisting good time. Maximum of 16 children and up to 20 adults. Children will play games in groups of four. Party also includes the items listed for all birthday parties.

MINERALS ROCK!

Did you know minerals are the building block of the entire Universe? The iron in hematite, in spinach and in the hemoglobin in our blood is all the same. Just like the calcium in sea shells, in milk and in our bones. Did you know some rocks glow in the dark? Learn more about minerals in this beautiful and colorful exhibit that displays over 60 different types of minerals, rocks and ammonites. BONE YARD

Whether a dinosaur was a carnivore or herbivore. Exhibits will showcase how a paleontologist locates, preserves, excavates and transports dinosaur bones from the field to a research center. Other exhibits will include dinosaur egg casts, claws and teeth. Go back in time and explore the amazing world of the dinosaur! Part of a School field Trip, follows Florida Education Standards

FISHY FOSSILS

Travel back in time in our new exhibit and learn about the amazing creatures that lived in the world’s oceans 65 million years ago. What do you think they ate? What do you think preyed upon the fish? The exhibit will showcase real and cast prehistoric fossilized fish and other sea creatures. AVIATION STATION

Fasten your seat belts and get ready to fly in this new fascinating exhibit. The 4,000-square-foot addition is the second phase of the exhibit and will provide hands-on, interactive aviation experiences. Visitors can climb into the captain’s seat and pretend to fly a real DC-9 commercial airliner. Transform yourself into a bird by putting on wings and stepping into a giant wind tunnel so you can see what it feels like to fly. A major expansion of the Museum of Discovery and Science, the new 34,000-square-foot EcoDiscovery Center, which more than doubles the Museum’s current exhibit space, offers more dynamic hands-on explorations.

There are five new exhibit areas: Otters at Play, Everglades Airboat Adventure, Prehistoric Florida, Florida Water Mysteries and Storm Center.

    museum is really amazing as some of the really good exhibits are for free!! not only that but the sea aquarium is only a few blocks away, i higly recommend coming to this place and also visiting the sea aquarium

    really nice !!! i love this place.. i came here with my wife, i remember i spent atlease 2 hours here… they were a lot of really cool exhibits… my favorite was the dino exhibit 🙂

    this museum really takes me back, i remember taking my kids here after school.. they really loved it here especially all the interactive exhibits. i think im going to enroll my grandson in the new camp they have recently started
