School Group Programs Grade 1 to 12
For School Groups Grade 1 to 12
School groups are encouraged to visit to Grounds For Sculpture. Here they can learn about contemporary sculpture through a variety of educational programs including workshops for adults and children, artist residencies and lectures, tours for adults, schoolchildren, toddlers, as well as touch tours for the blind. The park also hosts family days that offer entertainment for every member of the family.
Workshops for children are extremely popular at Grounds For Sculpture.

Tots on Tour, designed for early childhood learners age 3-5, meets 2 Saturdays per month, year-round. This program is designed and taught by a certified art teacher. The theme and lesson changes once per month. Tots on Tour features a story time, a child-friendly tour of selected sculptures in the park, and hands-on art making. Projects explore various art media, such as painting, printmaking, collage and more!
- Young Artist Workshops serve two age groups, children 6-9 and children 10-14. These workshops complement Grounds For Sculpture’s exhibitions by exploring art media and techniques based upon featured artists. Class size is limited and children have the opportunity to work closely with the artist instructor. Young Artist Workshops are very popular and spaces fill-up fast!
Private group workshops can be arranged for corporations, teachers seeking professional development credits, or other groups. Corporate workshops often feature a team-building component as well as hands-on art making. Grounds For Sculpture is a registered professional development provider with the State of New Jersey, and professional development certificates can be issued for workshop hours upon request. Previous private group workshops have included topics such as found object sculpture and stone sculptures. Please contact the Education Department for more information about arranging a private art workshop at 609.586.0616 ext. 17.
Artist residencies at Grounds For Sculpture offer members of the community an all-encompassing and immersive art experience. Working with an artist to help create and build a work of art gives the public a first-hand look into the creative world of a contemporary artist from vision to the product.
