Bay Street Theater Camp Programs

Operating year round, Bay Street Theatre is a not-for-profit regional theater presenting new, classic and contemporary works, with a commitment to challenging and entertaining our diverse community. This commitment extends to innovative educational programs that highlight the power of live theater. It is our mission to be an artistic haven for an extended family of artists and audience, while continuing to provide a gathering place to share in the unique collective theatrical experience.

Many of the productions that premiered or were developed at Bay Street have moved to Broadway, Off-Broadway, regionally and abroad, including NOBODY DON’T LIKE YOGI, HEDDA GABLER, LOVE JANIS, IF LOVE WERE ALL, FULL GALLOP, SWINGTIME CANTEEN and THREE HOTELS. Now in its 19th Season, Bay Street is considered ” …one of the Country’s pre-eminent regional theatres” ( CBS Sunday Morning ) and “…in the same league with the best major regional and Off-Broadway theatres.” ( Newsday )

In addition to the Mainstage productions, the variety of year-round programs at Bay Street include The Comedy Club, The Workshops, Special Events, and Educational Outreach Initiatives including Literature Live!, a Summer College Internship Program, Theatre Workshops and Kids Theatre Camps and Classes.

FEBRUARY SCHOOL VACATION KIDS CAMP

FEBRUARY 17-21

9 am – 3 pm

Bay Street Theatre

$385 for the weeklong camp per child

The camps will be led by Bethany Dellapolla, and include instruction in acting, singing, dance, performance & more. In addition, there are fun, creative theater games and improvs to help develop skills and to encourage students to stretch their abilities as young actors. Students will learn standard songs and choreography, and are also encouraged to create their own original work. The camp ends in a performance on Friday, at the theater for friends and family.

“The sheer fun of improv comedy and acting exercises, or learning a song or developing a short theater piece, engages children in problem solving, creative thinking, and collaboration,” says Dellapolla. “Through simple character study, they walk in someone else’s shoes and gain insight into themselves and others.”

Camp size is limited and always sells out. For payment and more information, please call Lorien at 631-725-0818 ext. 129. For more information about the camps or other programming at Bay Street Theatre, log on to www.baystreet.org.

My girls loved this camp. They have actually attended for
the past two summers this will be their third. I can honestly say it has
improved their preforming abilities but what is most important is they really
enjoy the program and staff members.
